Photo Usage Information

Photos and photo pairs displayed on this website are approved for educational use.  To use them in other educational products, credit them the same way as they are credited on the website.  Photo credits for each photo appear to the right of the photo pair, or on the photo pair, and include the museum or archival source if applicable.

Photos credited to an individuals name (without an archival source in parentheses), or to the NPS without a copyright symbol are public domain.  Multimedia credited with a copyright symbol (indicating that the creator may maintain rights to the work) or credited with an archival source should not be presumed to be public domain, so for uses beyond education, contact us at the address below to ascertain who owns the material and what other uses may be allowed.

To use an array of photos, concepts presented herein, or a summary of written content, please cite the website as a whole.
