While investigating photo pairs, researchers began to recognize that changes observed could be lumped into categories, or change types, which were recognizable at similar sites across the landscape. Viewing photo pairs in these change categories helps demonstrate the breadth and spatial extent of each change type.
Challenge yourself to consider memories of other landscapes you are familiar with. Are the change trends detected in Denali apparent in those landscapes? What about your childhood home or favorite recreation spot? Can you think of additional change trends occurring in these special places?
