This photo pair features three glacial erratics on the ridge south of Park Headquarters known locally as "Erratics Ridge." These large boulders were deposited in this location as the glaciers they were riding on melted retreated with the melting of Pleistocene ice fields. Although not much change is immediately apparent here, it would be difficult to discern it at this scale because the sparse fellfield and tundra plant communities that surround the boulders on this windblown ridge are made up of very small plants.
