This photo pair depicts the old Eielson Visitor Center and surrounding area. Over the period 1976 to 2005, park staff established trails to reduce vegetation trampling both upslope and down slope from the visitor center. To accommodate for the increased number of buses travelling the park road, staff also expanded the bus parking area. Demolished in 2006, the visitor center pictured was replaced by a new energy-efficient center that opened in 2008.
