Ecoregion: Alaska Range Mountains
Change Type: Glacial thinning and retreat

Description:
This view, looking up the East Fork of the Toklat River shows significant retreat and thinning of the East Fork Toklat glacier as well as melting of several cirque glaciers in tributary valleys. Note also that the East Fork Toklat River has migrated from the east bank of the outwash plain to the west bank, changing the erosion, deposition, and vegetation colonization patterns downstream.
