This view is taken from the air looking to the southwest over the ridge on the northeast side of Wonder Lake. Wonder Lake barely visible. Can you spot white spruce trees visible in 2005 that have established since 1976? These are the first harbingers of a change seen over much of the subalpine zone throughout many of the photo pairs - expansion of trees into formerly treeless terrain. Why might this process be happening?
