Description:
This aerial photo is looking towards the northeast across Wonder Lake (you can see a section of the Park Road near the top of the frame). The dark green patches of vegetation in these photos are likely thickets of alder (Alnus viridis) which stay green longer than many other shrubs. There are a few more trees visible in the 2005 photo relative to the earlier one; can you spot them? Another apparent change is that the large patch of alder near the center of the frame has expanded and coalesced to some degree, occupying more of the area in the recent photo. The yellow patches are likely willow shrubs (Salix spp.) and the dark green trees are white spruce (Picea glauca).
