Description:
This photo pair was taken from the Riley Creek railroad trestle looking west up Hines Creek and into the Park. In the upper right section of the frame, the road cut of the Park Road is visible as it climbs up to what is now Park Headquarters. Note the small footbridge over Hines Creek in the earlier photo, and the handicap accessible bridge that replaced it as part of the new Triple Lake Trail. In the lower right section the frame, you will see a large cleared area in the 1950s photo. This was a site of human use, possibly cabins or a staging area for a temporary mining operating for building stone from the outcrop center photo. Over the 60 years captured in this photo pair, you can see the reclaiming of this cleared land with riparian vegetation.
