*This description was written by teachers who visited the park in June 2012 to learn about communicating climate change. These photos were taken at the Toklat Bridge looking east. They show a bridge spanning the Toklat riverbed with a westward facing bluff. The bluff is vegetated with dwarf birch and willow. When comparing these two photos, separated by a gap of 69 years, the 2001 photo shows a significant infilling of the vegetation up the face of the bluff. During a 2012 field visit, a continued vegetation advancement was observed up the foreground face of the bluff closest to the bridge with a new isolated stand of vegetation at the top of the bluff.
