Description:
There has been a notable increase in the density of spruce trees growing near Wonder Lake over the past 50 years. In this photo pair, the tops of some spruce are visible just above the shrubs growing on the 1963 roadside (middle left of photo), and have grown up considerably by 2012. Notice also that the Park Road has been realigned and widened. Additional patches of spruce are visible near the lake edge. What animals do you think have found themselves more comfortable in this area of the park due to the vegetation changes that have occurred there?
